one moment show

“one moment show” (2010) exhibition view
mixed media (installation, film, photography, sculpture, readymade objects)

My starting point was to create a space which gives the impression of someone living and working in there. But at a closer look nothing really belongs in that living/working space.
I presented abstract objects while it was part of my concept that it shouldn´t look like a presentation but coincidental and I adjusted what it needed to be coincidentally perfect (the missing links).
There were objects which were associated with something which could fit in the personal living space but still were too abstract to have any use in there (like the shelf with the folded paperbacks).
And there were traces of the presence of a person who just have been there recently and worked/used the space (like the plastic bottle with milk which is left open).
The whole space becomes important when perceiving the moment.
The actions I did while organinizing the space would have been also of interest to be seen as a performance in order to not only present an endwork but leading the spectator to the moment of that and adding other levels like direct time experience. Time is another important factor. The time that already has passed is shown again by photographs in the same space. Also there is a certain temporarity in the objects because of their breakable materials.
